The mystery of the body analogy is not that there are different parts but that all the different parts work together for one purpose. In other words, unity is what is most impressive about how the body works and how the Body of Christ, the church, works. Though it may seem an odd arrangement, the church as the Body of Christ is exactly what God intended it to be. Within the Body of Christ, there are no important parts or unimportant parts. Every part is essential, and when every part is working toward the same goal, it is a wonder of God’s grace and design. It is given to us not to figure it out but to treasure the Body of Christ according to God’s working and to learn how to work together toward a goal bigger than any part.
