The "theater masks" (sometimes called Melpomene and Thalia) represent theater, acting, and drama. They say, "Drama is life, and life is drama!" It is true that we're no strangers to happiness, sadness, and everything in between. Jesus was no stranger to these emotions, either. Yet, he came to give us joy that goes deeper than any emotion and life that is fuller than any manufactured theatrical production. He makes us new by the power of his death and resurrection! He give us hope, and that hope leads to a joy that goes beyond anything we ever could have imagined! We can find joy even amid sadness, and, spirits soaring, we can also relate to others on a deeper level and share Christ's love with them in a way that is real, authentic, and genuine, in every season of life!
