Worship Service for April 20, 2025, 9 a. m.
As consumers and citizens, we long for guarantees. Items purchased are accompanied with contracts and warranties boasting of verbiage that guarantees longevity, functionality, and protection. Political speeches are filled with persuasive arguments and accolades guaranteeing allegiance, prosperity, and freedom. Apart from God’s Word, human guarantees are fragile at best. Because of God’s Word in Christ, we have abundant, life, joy, and eternal hope. His bleeding wounds-—a gouging crown, nail-scarred hands, and speared side—guarantee our forgiveness, grace, and eternal life. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus has purchased all of His lost and condemned creatures with blood. This is more than a deceptive warranty; it comes through Jesus, the very Word made flesh, for the redemption and resurrection of the world.
