It is not uncommon to hear someone described as (or even describe themselves as) “self-made.” Those words should never be uttered by a Christian! We were created by God. We were redeemed by Jesus at the cross and the empty tomb. We became a part of God’s family through the working of the Holy Spirit at our Baptism. May we always remember our Creator and be vessels that serve His purposes: jars of clay but filled with Christ.
